JAMIPOL: A Pioneer in Steel Desulphurization

In 1995, a joint venture was born between Tata Steel and its global partners, SKW Stahl-Metalurgie, Germany and TAI Industries and associates. Their mission: to produce Desulphurising Compounds (DCs) for the Steel Industry, to remove sulphur from hot metal (liquid iron) and make it pure and strong.

JAMIPOL was the first in India to offer this high-tech product, ushering in a new era for the Indian Steel Industry. With DCs, steelmakers can produce low sulphur steel that meets international standards, while saving time and money.

Over the years, JAMIPOL expanded its product range to include Cored wire, Deoxidising compound and Dephosphorising compound, all aimed at enhancing customer value and satisfaction. It also offered a variety of services, such as operating and maintaining DS stations, selecting and upgrading DS stations, and reducing DS life cycle cost through the BOOM model (build, own, operate and maintain). JAMIPOL also has expertise in mineral grinding services, such as Lime and Bentonite.
